Founder’s Letter

Salus Scientific Corp., a Charleston, South Carolina-based company established in 2021, has been created to produce innovative medical technologies benefiting both healthcare workers and patients. Salus Scientific was born of necessity when one of the founding physicians suffered a shoulder injury while kiteboarding. He needed to get back to work which requires him to work long hours in a lead apron as an interventional cardiologist, found no available product to help with that issue and decided that a solution could be devised that would also benefit many thousands of healthcare providers who wear lead aprons and struggle with fatigue, musculoskeletal issues, neuropathy, and discomfort while serving their patients.

This was the birth of the GLift and has led to the origination of Salus Scientific, a company passionately committed to producing medical devices designed to enhance the safety and comfort of healthcare professionals and patients alike.

The GLift Pro is our first commercialized device, but our team is busy developing plans for other new-age technologies focused on eliminating hazards for caregivers and patients. Musculoskeletal stresses and injuries associated with the use of lead aprons have become well-documented in recent years. GLift users claim to both relieve fatigue and lessen the risk of injury when use is adopted. This is accomplished by utilization of a patented endoskeleton which transfers an apron’s weight from the shoulders and spine to the iliac crests. The apron in the GLift Pro system includes the safest and most effective lead available and the system requires little to no behavior modification for its wearer during a busy workday. The system is fabricated to match a customer’s measurements and can be customized for color or logo. We produce aprons that the wearer feels and looks good wearing.

Most medical devices on the market today are intended for patient use and we at Salus Scientific understand that the patient’s well-being must remain the highest priority, one that we will endeavor to serve. We believe that the safety and comfort of those providing medical care is also a crucially important need, one that has too often been minimized, and that providers need and deserve the highest quality safe cost-effective equipment, just as patients do. We are committed to providing devices for both patients and healthcare workers while doing so efficiently and with the highest ethical standards. We look forward to accomplishing these intentions with the help and guidance of valued partners, potentially including you.

Sincerely,

Bill, Richard, and Todd
